This policy covers the information collected or submitted through the Remembrall app.
CloudKit and iCloud
Remembrall uses Apple CloudKit to sync your data between your own Apple devices. Your data lives in your private CloudKit database, encrypted with an account-based key — I don't have access to it. I also don't have access to your Apple ID, only a unique identifier linked to this app alone; it can't be used to track you across other apps. For more, see Apple's privacy policy.
Personal Data
Personal data is information that can identify you — for instance, contact details you share when you write to me, such as your name, email address, or postal address.
Email and Communication
Remembrall lets you email me directly from the app. If you do — from there or anywhere else — the personal data you send is stored so I can reply.
Firebase Analytics
I collect anonymized usage statistics through Google Firebase, a service of Google LLC. This includes information about your use of the app and your IP address, transferred and stored on Google's servers in the US. I use it to understand how the app is used and to improve it, based on my legitimate interest in a needs-based design. Google may also pass this information to third parties where required by law. Data held in Firebase Analytics is kept for 14 months, after which only aggregated statistics remain.
Firebase Crashlytics
I use Firebase Crashlytics, also from Google LLC. If Remembrall crashes, Crashlytics sends me technical information about your device and the crash so I can find the cause and fix it. This data isn't personal data, and its use is based on my legitimate interest in keeping the app working correctly.
In-App Purchases
Remembrall is free to download; full access is available as a subscription or a one-time purchase. Purchases are processed by Apple — I never receive your name, Apple ID, or payment details. To decide whether you have full access, the app checks your purchases with the App Store on your device, including whether you bought Remembrall back when it was a paid app. For the same reason it reads a marker that earlier paid versions saved in your iCloud account; the app never writes to it. Your access status is stored only on your device.
Firebase Analytics also records how people move through the purchase screen — for example, that it was shown, which plan was picked, and whether the purchase went through — without any payment details. I use this to understand what makes people upgrade.
Your Choices and Deleting Your Data
Your cards are stored on your device and, if you turn on sync, in your private iCloud database. You can delete them in the app, or remove Remembrall's data from iCloud in your device's iCloud storage settings. Deleting the app removes its data from the device.
Analytics and crash data aren't linked to your name, email, or Apple ID, so I can't single out your records. You can withdraw your consent at any time by deleting the app, which stops any further collection; Firebase Analytics data is deleted automatically after 14 months.
